Mariah Carey Blames 9/11 For Glitter Fail

Singer turned actress Mariah Carey has blamed the events of 9/11 for the flop of her semi-autobiographical film Glitter at the box office.

According to the Press Assosciation, Mariah said, “Here’s the thing that a lot of people don’t know, that movie was released on September 11, 2001 – could there be a worse day for that movie to come out?”

That’s a fair point Mariah, but people saw it on DVD and it was still pants.

“I don’t think it’s the worst thing ever done. I don’t think it’s the best thing ever done. If I could go back in time and not do it, yeah, I would definitely not do it. But at the time, I was auditioning for smaller roles and wanting to do more independent things. But everybody was like, ‘No, she’s too well known. She’s going to take us out of the movie.’”

I understand Mariah, I really do. And from the buzz that’s been going around about her performance in Precious, I’m willing to give her another chance, ’cause who knows, this could be the start of a beautiful friendship.
